Environment variables that you set in config.sys with SET statements, including PATH, are stored in the "environment space" part of memory. You can increase that space with a statement similar to this in config.sys: SHELL=C:\COMMAND.COM C:\ /P /E:1024 The /E:1024 switch will set the environment space to 1024 bytes, which should be plenty, but you can experiment.
