Maheen Arshad graduated with a Bachelor of Science with Honors in Behavior, Cognition and Neuroscience from University of Windsor. As an undergraduate, she did her honors thesis studying the role of cell cycle proteins in brain tumor aggressiveness and response to treatment. She gained advocacy experience by volunteering as a Helpline Responder at the Distress Center of Downtown mission and by providing patient care at the Hospice of Windsor and Essex County. She also held several leadership positions with her work at UW Student Success and Leadership Center. Maheen shadowed Genetic Counselors from both Canada and the United States, which developed her passion for this ever-evolving field of Genetic Counseling. In her free time, she enjoys baking, hiking, and spending time with her family and friends.
