Hafsah graduated magna cum laude and with departmental honors from Eastern Michigan University in 2018 with a BS in Biology and minors in Chemistry and Psychology. While at EMU, Hafsah worked as a drop-in tutor for introductory biology and as a Supplemental Instructor for genetics. Additionally, Hafsah conducted research on protein interactions involved in the biosynthesis of GDP-glucose and GDP-mannose in Arabidopsis thaliana, which she completed her senior thesis on. To gain advocacy experience, she volunteered as a crisis line counselor at both the Ozone House and SafeHouse Center. In her free time, she likes shopping, reading, and spending time with friends.
