Libby Westrate graduated from Hope College in 2013 with a BA in Biology and Spanish. Throughout her undergraduate career she was involved in many activities such as volunteering on a crisis line for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault and working as a counselor at a camp for children with Williams Syndrome. Libby gained experience working with a genetic counselor through an internship at Spectrum Health Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan shadowing a genetic counselor for a semester in prenatal and pediatric clinics. After graduation, Libby worked as a language and culture assistant at a bilingual school in Madrid, Spain, and returned to the states to work as a Spanish-immersion preschool aide in Grand Rapids, Michigan. In her free time, Libby loves to swim, ride her bike, travel, and read.
