Currently a first year student in the MGG MS program

As an undergraduate, I studied general biology and psychology, but I always knew I wanted to end up in the area of genetics. From the first time I came to Wayne State University, I appreciated the research oriented environment Wayne had and knew I wanted to continue my education here. I did undergraduate research under Dr. David Kass and wrote my undergraduate thesis on the evolutionary history of mysTR in rodents, presenting my research findings twice at EMU’s Undergraduate Symposium. I’m currently unsure of what specific area of research I will pursue, but I’m excited to explore all the amazing options here at Wayne State in the MGG program.
