Siddika Venkatachalam graduated from the University of Western Ontario in 2016 with a Bachelor of Science in Genetics. During her undergraduate years, she gained interest in the genetic counseling profession through experience volunteering with a pediatric genetic counselor in Chennai, India. After graduation, she volunteered at the Hospital for Sick Children in the Autism Research Unit and at Mount Sinai Hospital in the Familial Breast Cancer Clinic. She gained advocacy experience as a crisis line counselor for the Sexual Assault and Violence Intervention Services of Halton, where she supported survivors of sexual assault and their family members. In her free time, Siddika loves to dance, listen to podcasts, and watch TV shows.
